On 20th March 2025, CHS welcomed Daniel Zeichner MP, Minister of State at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for a visit to its recently completed development in Newton, South Cambridgeshire.

The new development provides six homes for affordable rent alongside two for shared ownership and as the homes were built on a Rural Exception Site, all the homes were prioritised for local people with strong ties to the village.

The homes were completed in December 2023 and were designed to be energy efficient and includes solar panels and air source heat pumps.

The visit was planned in conjunction with Cambridgeshire ACRE, a local organisation that works with people to bring about social, environmental and economic change for the good of rural communities.
